Biography - Garfield Wong
CFO & Founder
Mr. Garfield Wong, having joined the Immigration Department in 1983, has worked in every section within the department. At that time, the Department of Immigration handled the borders, asylum, visitors’ extensions, and the issuing of Right to be Caymanian, Work Permits and Permanent Residency.
In 2017, the Government made the decision to strengthen the borders and in doing so, combined the staff from legacy Immigration and legacy Customs in order to form the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control, which came into effect on February 1st 2018.
His main areas of responsibility at this time are as follows:

- General Aviation Terminal
- Visitors Extensions
- Visas
- Seaport
- FSI- Freight Security
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS) was established by the Twenty Seventh Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government in July 2006, in Bird Rock, St Kitts and Nevis, as the implementation arm of a new Regional Architecture to manage CARICOM’s action agenda on crime and security.
